Laundry part 2

We have a follow up to my first post way back in January about Curious Miss V's interest in laundry!
https://curiousmissv.blogspot.com/2019/01/laundry-curiosity.html

She got a Melissa and Doug (#NotAnAD) laundry play kit for her birthday in August from Auntie Kellie and Uncle Ben. She has absolutely loved playing with it since...just haven't taken pics of her using it til now!  Her absolute favorite part is taking the lids on and off the "soap" bottles.

I've said it before... if this girl isn't a professional laundry washer as an adult...she will be an engineer. SO curious about how lids work, how blocks fit into certain places...
Got it on Mom!
Another fun part is the water spray bottle. Uncle Ben decided to actually fill it with water. In August, we were playing with it outside so what the heck. Now, inside, there is still some left and it causes quite the delight to get a little squirt out. There can't be hardly anything left in it but she manages every time- LOL

LOVES "washing" her stuffed animals and dolls.
There is a pack of "dryer sheets" as well and she goes around the house wiping/drying everything she sees at random times. She thinks they are like her diaper wipes that we still use in the kitchen to wash her up after meals!

Let's get you dry baby!
Would you actually like to see the enjoyment V has while playing laundry? Yes, me too however she would not stop long enough to take a good pic so this is the best I got :)

Come on Mom! I just want to play!
Lastly, there is a mini ironing board and iron included in the set. She doesn't play with these as much because I don't think she's ever seen me use the real one in her 2 year existence! She will have to learn from Grandma Diane!!

Kinetic Sand

Our girl Curious Miss V loves the beach/sand! At least she did at age 1 when we took her on her first family vacation to Cape Cod in 2018. Grandpa and Krista decided to try some indoor kinetic sand fun and it is the next best thing!

She really likes filling up the "castles" and dumping them out. They are usually only half way filled because she is too impatient!

what will this make?!

This feels funny...but I like it I think!
this can't be real sand can it!?

Take the picture Mom so I can keep playing!
Cutting/raking/sawing are fun too!

Mom of course had the brilliant idea to try dipping our toes in just like at the real beach! V was of course all for it and very curious!

Best smile ever!
Might as well go all in! Buried foot!

And of course...the throwback to Cape Cod on her 1st birthday!

Halloween Wrap Up

I was just too excited to share V's costume photos and did so before writing a blog. So, you have seen most of the photos on Facebook but I wanted to do a little recap of the week long holiday!

We started with trick or treat at the Zoo! It was a fun family night out as we went to Maggiano's for dinner before. Curious Miss V LOVES restaurants and noodles...so this was perfect.

costumed and ready to stroll through the zoo at night!

Miss V was a little thrown by the darkness because she always says "when it dark go night night" LOL. She was also expecting more animals but once she realized how to carry her trick or treat bag and go to each stop she was thrilled. She did not want to let that bag go! Probably her favorite of the animals we did see were the fish. She is just memorized by the big tanks! (No, we are not getting a fish tank! hehe)

Orange pumpkin and orange fish
We stopped in the performance area in the ape house where Karate America does their demo during the summer family nights. She was convinced there would be more karate there again! Thankfully, we distracted her with a spider cookie! Her face was black from the frosting after!

So, she had a few bites of the cookie but not one piece of candy because....she's never had it before and didn't know candy was inside the wrappers! The next day, she figured out how to get the wrappers off the suckers but still didn't realize she was supposed to lick them/put in mouth so she just lined them all up on the floor! She did taste a tootsie roll and of course loved it.

Look what I did Mom!
We then had actual trick or treating Sunday night and we went with 2 sets of neighbors for the second year in a row. V wasn't walking yet last year so this years experience was 100% different! She LOVED it! We used costume number 2 because a girl can't have just one costume ;)

I think Dad had just as much fun!
strong muscles!

We saw an idea on Facebook to use old gallon jugs, fill them with water and add glow sticks. Kyle drew faces on them and V was very interested in the water. She wanted to put her fingers in the jugs and pour it out much like she does with the containers in her water table (which she has asked to play with everyday since the weather has been colder of course). She loved dropping the glow sticks in too.

spooky!

The week continued with two costume days at school and the library Halloween Party. She absolutely loved coming upstairs to the big kid rooms at school to trick or treat. She marched right up with her bag and said Trick Or Treat! when she got to my classroom. She talked about the other kids' costumes and was just thrilled with all the excitement. She did end up having her first sucker since they were allowed to have one in her classroom after trick or treating. She then of course wanted more once she got home and just ripped wrappers off and licked away!

By the time we got to the last event at the library, we were a little distracted by the SNOW!

My Dad's favorite decoration got dumped on!

Warm and dry inside!

They had some fun projects to make and she even got her first pencil which she was thrilled by until she realized it "didn't work" :)
It was a very busy, fun week and thankfully all the snow melted!

New Berlin Park Series: Gatewood Park

We tried out another small neighborhood park (Gatewood Park near Orchard Lane Elementary) in New Berlin last week after a big rain storm. The wood chips kind of sunk down when we walked on them. Very wet! Miss V was happy as ever to be exploring though!

She doesn't even wait for me anymore: just takes off and conquers!

Big kid

She again had some shoe issues but took care of it no problem!

Dont want sandal weather to end!
She was playing with another kid and kept waiting at the bottom of the slide to "catch" her. This kid was probably 4 or 5 LOL

She also kept getting distracted by the school buses driving by

And to end our park trip: some wildlife enjoying the puddles!

Play-doh

How do you spell play-doh? That is the first question I was curious about when beginning this post :) So many variations. The official brand is play-doh so that is what I'm going with! Curious Miss V got some for her birthday in August and we've only used it once so with a cooler start to the morning yesterday...we got out the play-doh and got to work!

I know there's more in there...
Anyone else have trouble getting this darn stuff out of the containers? V saw me smack it on the counter to get some out and she of course had to try to!
We had to make a butterfly to match her shirt and her name of course!

She has a mini rolling pin for making creations but it was mostly used for making holes/circles in the play-doh!

concentrating
I would say half of the time was spent taking the lids off and on the containers! Refer back to this post where I suggest she may be an engineer or builder when she grows up!

When we video chatted with Grandma that night, Violet kept wanting to show the "squishy squashy" to her and was pointing to the cabinet where I thought she had not seen me hide it- oh boy!

Here is a link to an edible play-doh recipe we tried a few months ago!
